My thoughts:
This was a welcome distraction for me. After reading a lot of hard going novels lately, i needed a feel good read, to pick me up and boy did this rise to that challenge!
I haven't read any Suzie Tullett novels before, so as always, i go into it with an open mind. The premise is an unusual one. Girl doesn't want to meet boy. Boy is happy on his own. So, how does this work you might wonder. Well, Annabel is desperately trying to move on with her life. 3 years after losing her soul mate, best friend and husband, Tom. Annabel realises she's been treading water, existing if you will and what is the solution to this? A baby! Of course thats what comes to mind. And how best to achieve this goal? A random bloke in a club. Nothing more than a sperm donor.
Dan is on a night out with friends when approached by a woman, with a proposition he didn't see coming. Thinking about it, seriously, over a few days he agrees to her terms. However, after some life changing news in his personal life all bets are off. In an instant it all changes for him.
What follows is a beautifully written story. A story that is full of highs and lows. Written with humour and a delicate touch when dealing with the sensitive subjects. What you have is a read that will bring a smile to your face. Not to mention those times where a series of misunderstandings will have you groaning and rolling your eyes whilst reading through your fingers. You're 99% sure you know where the tale is headed but you still feel the tension and anticipation keenly. All told this such a good read, you will lose time without a doubt. For example, i picked it up as i had a half hour spare, and when i put it down realised an hour had passed. Was i bothered? Not in the slightest! I was only sorry i had to put it down at all.
Thank you to bombshell books for allowing me to take part in the blog tour and for the arc. All thoughts and opinions in relation to this novel are entirely my own.
